An 18-year-old man charged with shooting two people outside Eden Prairie High School during its homecoming football game posted bond and was released from the Hennepin County Jail on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, jail records show.

Adam Abdihakeem Adam posted a $100,000 bond, or a $10,000 cash bond, FOX 9 reported. His first court appearance was scheduled for Monday, Oct. 12, 2026.

The charges

Adam was charged on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, with two counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of second-degree riot while armed with a dangerous weapon, Eden Prairie Local News and Fox News reported. Police arrested him on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, in Minneapolis.

According to the criminal complaint, surveillance video showed two cars entering the school parking lot shortly before the shooting on Oct. 2, 2026, and a fight involving about 10 people breaking out near them. The driver of one car got out and fired at two people, then drove away.

Investigators say the car belonged to Adam’s older brother, who was not there, and that Adam’s cellphone traveled with the car before, during and after the shooting. After the shooting, he abandoned the phone and changed his number, according to the complaint. A search of his home turned up clothing that matched what the shooter wore on the video.

One victim was shot in the leg and the other in the foot. Both were treated.

“This was an alarming and dangerous act that injured two people and frightened many more,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said in a statement.

The allegations have not been proven in court.
