TD Bank customers have two weeks to react to a $32.225 million overdraft fee settlement, while CGM data breach victims from December 2022 can receive $1.5 million.
Deadline Approaches for TD Bank Settlement and Customers Advised to Act Quickly
The US Sun says that TD Bank customers only have two weeks to react to a $32.225 million settlement about overdraft fees that may not have been fair. This settlement settles claims that TD Bank charged overdraft fees for transactions that were allowed when accounts had enough money, but later went negative.
People who opened a personal bank account between June 27, 2019, and September 30, 2022, have until September 14, 2024, to either choose not to be a part of the settlement or object to it. People who don’t do anything will immediately get paid back based on the fees they paid.
As part of the settlement, $21.975 million will be given to customers who were harmed. People who already have accounts will get credits added to them, and people who used to be users will get checks.
A further $10.25 million will be used to lower some outstanding balances relating to these fees. Customers need to look over their choices quickly to make the deadline, since they don’t need to fill out a claim form to get paid.
CGM Settles for $1.5 Million, Affected Individuals to Receive Varying Amounts
In other news, a $1.5 million deal will help people who were affected by a data breach at CGM between December 15 and December 28, 2022.
About 279,063 people were affected by the breach, which let out private information like driver’s license and Social Security numbers. The amount of money that will be paid out will change, from $400 for normal losses to $4,000 for extraordinary ones.
Besides that, there are a number of other important towns that are currently open. Some of these are a $3 million settlement for unpaid overtime and a $14.95 million settlement for invasions of privacy.
People who were affected should look over these cases and file any claims that are needed to make sure they get their money before the deadlines.
