Road-rage biker with dog in sidecar shoots 2-year-old girl riding with family for DoorDash delivery: Police

Police in Texas say a 2 year old girl was shot and is fighting for her life after a man from Dallas lost his cool on the road.

Dallas County jail records show that Jason Cain, 50, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of deliberately hurting a child seriously.

Police say that after they looked into it further, they found Nazi symbols and guns in the defendant’s home.

Around 8 p.m. on Sunday, the crime happened on Sweetwater Drive in east Dallas, close to the Forest Hills area.

A spokesperson for the Dallas Police Department told Law & Crime, “The preliminary investigation determined that the suspect, 50-year-old Jason Cain, shot into a vehicle at the location and hit a two-year-old girl.” “The girl was taken to a nearby hospital, treated, and sent home.”

The night in question, cops told the Dallas-based Fox affiliate KDFW that a family was driving together to make a Door Dash delivery when they saw a man on a motorcycle.

Police say that the man’s family later told them that he wasn’t riding with his lights on because it was dark.

Police say the driver of the car swerved and honked to avoid hitting the biker. An affidavit obtained by Dallas-based ABC station WFAA says that the two drivers then talked to each other.

Police say that the guy on the motorcycle then turned around, followed the family, and fired two shots into their car. A bullet hit the girl in the stomach, and then it bounced off her lungs and lodged in her diaphragm.

According to the statement, one bullet was left in the girl’s body because doctors thought that trying to remove it would cause more harm than good.

It was heard by a woman who lives on that street, so she went outside to see what was going on.

She told KDFW, “When I got to the car, it spun around and stopped next to me.” “I think the mom jumped out of the passenger side and yelled twice, ‘They shot my baby!'”

The woman said she saw the child covered in blood, so she told the family to go to the hospital right away while she called 911. Soon after, police cars rushed to the scene of the crime.

Police say they were able to identify Cain later by using both witness statements and camera footage of the shooting.

Authorities say that several people saw a motorbike with a sidecar and a dog riding in the sidecar following a gray sedan. Those people then said they saw the biker shoot twice.

That description fit almost perfectly with a person who was seen on that street.

“I’m shocked that it happened here and had anything to do with my neighbors,” Cain’s neighbor next door told WFAA. “They’re great.”

He gets on his Harley and puts his dog in the sidecar. The two of them go for a short ride around the block.

Police allegedly turned up “many satanic and Nazi symbols,” rifles, and a handgun, during the execution of a search warrant at the defendant’s home on Sweetwater, according to the affidavit.

The person who called 911 said she had no idea that one of her friends would shoot a child.

The witness told KDFW, “All I can think about is how that mom’s voice sounded.” “And the way that that little baby — she just wasn’t moving, she wasn’t crying, and I really thought she was gone.”

Things are said to be calm for the girl.

The defendant is currently being detained in the north tower of the Dallas County jail on a combined bond of $850,000.
